You Don’t Need Fixing – Healing Pain, Blocks, Stories + Triggers

As I mentioned in one of the previous videos (see links below), understanding yourself through the lens of the Five Elements, allows you to breathe a sigh of relief, and gives you permission to really just be YOU.

.

And that’s really ALL of you – the parts that we perceive as good or positive, those bits of ourselves we feel comfortable celebrating and showing and sharing… as WELL as the parts we find difficult, the challenging or icky aspects of ourselves that we would really rather not have… those parts that we might feel need fixing, or that we are made to feel (by other people) are wrong or that somehow we should be different…

.

We don’t need fixing! You are not broken… even if you have felt that way for a long time, or if others have projected that image on to you… you do not need to be fixed… many of us have spent so many years, trying to “fix” ourselves, to make ourselves “better”, with all sorts of therapies, seeing all sorts of practitioners…

.

But what I learnt when Five Element acupuncture came into my life, is that you don’t need “fixing”, you just need to have permission to be yourself, you just need to BE – without resistance to our natural ways of being in the world… and yes, sometimes it is different to others around us, sometimes it isn’t comfortable, sometimes we need to make adjustments to get back into alignment with our true nature… but this is where knowing YOUR ELEMENT is SO powerful…

.

The things that cause us pain come from our Element, the blocks we have in our lives often have their root within our Element and its innate challenges… The stories we have told ourselves for years, or been told by OTHERS for years – those narratives that run in the backgrounds of our lives, they are created or seen from the space of our Element… and often what triggers us is to do with the energy of our Element and how we view and interpret the world because of it…

.

The good news is that once we start to understand this, and our Element, we can start to heal some of the wounds that we may have been carrying around for a really long time… And this is because we all have everything we need inside of us – it is the beauty of Chinese Medicine and acupuncture – we help the body heal ITSELF… It’s not about fixing, it’s about restoring you back to YOU again, so you can be in flow…

.

Working with the Five Elements allows us to be the BEST versions of who we really are, who we ALREADY are. Discovering our particular Element, and its associations, its challenges and gifts, is a way of learning more about ourselves. It is a way of accepting ourselves, and getting rid of blocks or old stories that may be holding us back. It reveals a way of life that is positive and empowering, it is a journey to deeper self-understanding and life-changing self-acceptance…
